HCLV SCIENCE FARE AND INNOVATION EXPO JUNE 16th, 2024

Under the mentorship of school administration and the science head of the department, this year students are actively engaged in groundbreaking projects within the Science Faculty, including mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, agriculture, and ICT. These projects not only demonstrate the students’ creativity and technical abilities but also underscore the school’s commitment to fostering a culture of innovation and exploration. Some of the noteworthy projects currently underway at Holy Cross Lake View include creative education and science innovation projects.

Drone Project

Projects currently underway at HCLV

Drone Projector: Developing a drone equipped with a projector for diverse applications such as aerial imaging and educational purposes.
Solar Concentrator: Harnessing solar energy efficiently through concentrated solar power technology to generate heat or electricity.
Vacuum Pump: Designing a device capable of creating a vacuum for scientific and industrial applications.
Smart Dustbin: Creating an intelligent waste disposal system that automatically sorts and manages different types of waste using sensor technology as a contribution to environmental sustainability and Climate Change action response.
Smart Calculator: Developing an advanced calculator with features like graphing, programming, and data analysis to enhance mathematical learning.
Plant Soup: Exploring innovative agricultural practices to enhance crop productivity and sustainability.

HCLV takes a lead in innovation and Creative Education

The school’s faith-centered values instill a sense of purpose and ethical responsibility, guiding students to make sound decisions in their careers. With an emphasis on critical thinking, hands-on learner-centered learning, adaptability, and continuous learning we ensure that our graduates are well-equipped to navigate dynamic professional environments and contribute meaningfully to their chosen fields.

This SCIENCE FARE AND INNOVATION EXPO:

Aimed at inspiring learners to be more creative and innovative and this will shape the future of STEM at HCLV. Students will showcase their innovations and intellectual and creative works and explain how they have been able to use smart devices and embrace technology in their projects, share generic work associated with traditional knowledge that is breeding creative thinking in both technology, creative art, and the school culture of education for service.

The Future:

The thanksgiving will bring back home Alumni Dr. Mwanika Idiobe who has excelled in the above program of Science Fare in the school. He plans to collaborate with the school to;

• Establish a Science Fair Fund to support ongoing innovation and student projects.
• To Create an Aerospace Institute of Learning to nurture interest and expertise in aerospace technology spearheaded by students at Holy Cross Lake View SSS Science and Innovation Program, aimed at impacting the rest of Uganda.
• Formalizing a partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance the existing STEM education and innovation at Holy Cross Lake View SSS
• Encourages students to engage in cutting-edge research with practical implications through the development of aerial vehicles to enhance their existing drone project in the school.
• Encouraging innovation in environmental sustainability and adaptation through the existing innovative smart Dustin bin project and the new club’s project plan aimed at seeking innovative, and creative environmental solutions to problems facing our Country in its efforts to combat climate change.

Key to the event.
There will be.

A Thanksgiving Mass led by; the Provincial Superior Congregation of Holy Cross – Province of East Africa
A Science fair expo and Press Conference by the students and visitors on the day of Thanksgiving.
The Kyabazinga of Busoga will be the guest of honor, many other dignitaries, and representatives of the Alumni Association and Parents. The goal is to instill in students the belief that they are capable of achieving success if they took advantage of the learning opportunities the school offers as exemplified by Dr. Jdiobe’s inspiring journey from Holy Cross Lake View to working at Boeing.
