My Transformative Journey at Holy Cross Lake View Secondary School

My name is Cherop Kepha Siya, a proud student of Senior 3A at Holy Cross Lake View Secondary School. I began my journey here in 2020 as a Senior One student, and my time at this institution has been nothing short of life-changing. It is a privilege and an honor to share my remarkable experiences, which have not only shaped me academically but also socially, spiritually, and personally.

A Holistic Educational Experience

Studying at Holy Cross Lake View has provided me with a unique and fulfilling educational experience. The school’s conducive learning environment, enriched by its state-of-the-art facilities, has been instrumental in fostering my academic growth. The well-stocked library has been a constant source of knowledge and inspiration, while the availability of dedicated teachers has made learning interactive and engaging. These educators go above and beyond to support students, offering guidance and mentorship whenever needed.

Spiritual Growth and Connection

One of the most significant aspects of my time here has been my spiritual development. The school places great emphasis on nurturing a connection with God, and the presence of a serene chapel has given me ample opportunities for personal prayer and reflection. The regular liturgical schedule, including Sunday and Wednesday Mass, as well as Praise and Worship sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays, has deepened my faith and enriched my spiritual journey.

Extracurricular Activities and Clubs

Holy Cross Lake View offers a diverse range of academic and non-academic clubs that have greatly enhanced my overall development. I have had the privilege of actively participating in the Debate Club, Laudato Si Club, and ICT Club, each of which has provided invaluable experiences. Through these clubs, I have engaged in various activities both within and outside the school, broadening my horizons and enabling me to interact with people from diverse backgrounds.

As the President of the ICT Club for the 2023–2024 academic year, I have had the opportunity to represent the school in external events such as science fairs and agricultural shows. Collaborating with my fellow club members, we have developed several innovative projects that have greatly enhanced my skills in the field of ICT, fueling my passion for technology and innovation.

Leadership Opportunities

Leadership is a core value at Holy Cross Lake View, and I am grateful for the many roles I have been entrusted with during my time here. In 2022–2023, I served as the Class President, an experience that taught me the importance of responsibility and teamwork. Additionally, I have been an active member of the Campus Faith Ministry, serving as the ICT Coordinator since 2022. These roles have allowed me to grow as a leader, honing my organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.

Patriotism and Team Spirit

Holy Cross Lake View has instilled in me a deep sense of patriotism and love for my school and country. My participation in the school’s patriotism programs has taught me to approach everything I do with a spirit of loyalty and dedication. Moreover, being a member of MCD House has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Engaging in house activities such as debate competitions, cross-country events, and spelling bees has nurtured my team-building skills and emphasized the importance of collaboration and mutual support.

A Home Away from Home

Holy Cross Lake View is more than just a school; it is a family and a home away from home. The bonds I have formed, the lessons I have learned, and the experiences I have gained will forever remain a part of me. This institution has taught me that the sky is no longer the limit—it is merely the beginning of endless possibilities.

As I reflect on my journey, I am filled with gratitude for the opportunities, support, and experiences that have shaped me into the person I am today. Holy Cross Lake View Secondary School will always hold a special place in my heart, and I am proud to be part of such a transformative community.
