Faith and Service at Holy Cross Lake View Secondary School

At Holy Cross Lake View Secondary School, Wanyange, faith is not confined to Sundays or the chapel. It permeates every aspect of our community, guiding our actions, interactions, and aspirations. Our mission is to nurture students who live as true disciples, where faith becomes a full-time endeavor.

Liturgical Life

The spiritual life of our students is at the heart of our mission. Our community gathers regularly to celebrate and deepen our faith through:

  • Reconciliation: Available daily to those who seek it, with a designated time on Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
  • Eucharist: Celebrated during Wednesday and Sunday Masses.
  • Sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion: This term, 10 students, two workers’ children, and two staff members received these sacraments during the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ.
  • Confirmation: Anglican students will be confirmed at a special service at John Wakitaka Secondary School. Additionally, the Bishop is scheduled to visit our school in October to confirm Catholic students.

Angelic Voices: The School Choir

Our renowned choir, Angelic Voices, inspires the school with its beautiful harmonies during Mass and special events. Each class also has its own choir, fostering participation and enriching our liturgical celebrations during weekdays and some Sundays.

  • Mass Celebrations: Held on Wednesdays at 5:00 PM, Sundays at 8:00 AM, and on other significant days designated by the Church and school.
  • Faith Clubs: Students participate in various faith-based groups, including Legion of Mary, Our Lady of Sorrows, Brother Andrew Vocations, Scripture Union, YCS (Young Christian Students), Lectors, Liturgical Dance, Good Samaritan, and Charismatic groups. These clubs meet every Tuesday at 4:00 PM for prayer and spiritual exercises.

A Holistic Faith Journey

At Holy Cross Lake View, spiritual formation goes beyond rituals. Students learn to grow in their relationship with God through:

  • Biblical Studies: Rooted in Scripture, Catholic Social Teachings, and moral theology.
  • Prayer and Reflection: Embedded in daily school life, fostering a community united in faith.

Holy Cross Lake View Secondary School welcomes everyone to join this transformative journey, rooted in the charism of the Holy Cross Congregation, as we educate hearts and minds for service and leadership.
