Excitement had been building for weeks among our senior six candidates at Holy Cross until their eyes opened to the bright sun rays through Moreau stadium to the elegant glass windows of the girls’ and boys’ palaces. It was that morning of February 22nd, 2025, that senior four candidates and other students in the school gazed at the changing environment in St. Andre Hall and as people were seen walking in the air exiting their palaces with admirable appearances.
One form one student was heard saying “I will study hard to reach form six”.
Meanwhile the Form Six students were droning with eagerness, ready to celebrate. The atmosphere at Andre Hall was in high gear, filled with joy and eagerness as the class gathered to celebrate the event. What did you see different from what you saw during the S.4 bash? The photographer Mr. Wambi was asked
Replied more people at the photo booth! Elegant decorations and outstanding outfits. I mean students and their teachers seem to have had enough time to prepare for this and are ready to enjoy their day.
As the festivities kicked off, students made their way to their seats, looking radiant in their exquisite cultural and themed attire. The black and white theme created a striking visual display, while students proudly showcased their cultural heritage and individual flair.
A delightful breakfast was served, heightening the celebratory spirit of the occasion. This event was more than just a party; it was a moment to revel in joy and forge lasting memories. As noon approached, the much-anticipated red carpet moment arrived, accompanied by pulsating music that had everyone on their feet, dancing with beaming smiles and newfound confidence.
The guest of honor, Reverend Father Ssali Bob CSC, the Director of A-Level Studies, delivered an inspiring and uplifting speech that resonated with the students, motivating them as they ventured into the next chapter of their lives. The cake-cutting ceremony that followed was a jubilant celebration of the students’ achievements and a testament to the enduring friendships formed throughout their school years. Lunch was served, and the hall was filled with laughter and conversations, fostering a sense of camaraderie among the students.
As the day transitioned into evening, students donned their elegant dinner attire, sharing a meal together before parting ways, each carrying the unforgettable memories of a remarkable high school experience. The prom was truly an extraordinary event that they would treasure for years to come.
When a student who joined us for A level was asked to share an experience from the Bash he had in his former school and the experience at Holy Cross he said “Holy Cross Lake View S.S.S is transforming the Face of school parties in Secondary Schools. End of high school parties, like in any other high school, are a cherished tradition, but here its one that not only celebrates the end of the academic year but also prepares us to prioritize out focus on studies.
Unlike many schools where proms are held at the end of the year, this school chose to host this memorable event in the early weeks of first term. This thoughtful approach allows us to fully immerse ourselves in our studies without the distractions that can often accompany end-of-year festivities according to what I learnt from our school administration’s point of view.
Everyone can see this event is a beautiful blend of fun, laughter, and friendship, helping us reinforce the bonds that we have been forming over the years. It really feels family for me here.
The Stunning Decor, the food, the Dancing and Music: The photo Booth Fun, our teachers Participation and Heartfelt Speeches from both students and staff, reflecting on our journey and the growth they have experienced. These heartfelt moments brought a sense of nostalgia and pride, reminding everyone of the importance and value of our time here at Holy Cross Lake View.
As I conclude, he added. I can’t forget to mention my experience of the end of year party.
It is not just a celebration; it is an integral part of our school’s culture that helps us to bond as a family that even when we move on to other levels we will remain with cherished memories of this school and treasure the friendship and family bond that identifies us as Holy Cross Anchors.
This party for you students must help you balance joy with academic responsibility. By hosting this event in this famous Br. Andre Hall and early in the term, we remind you that students can enjoy this rite of passage while remaining committed to their studies.
The memories created during this weekend’s festivities should undoubtedly live on in your hearts as you continue your journeys beyond secondary school, said the school administrator.
The class teachers on the other hand added voice to their students by expressing a heartfelt thanks that went out to the exceptional school administration for their unwavering support and dedication in making the prom a truly memorable occasion.
