Talent blooms at Holy Cross lake view sss on Corpus Christi Sunday 2025

On the Sacred occasion of Corpus Christi Sunday, the students of Holy Cross Lake View Secondary School showcased their exceptional talents in a spectacular display of creative fashion, music, miming, and dancing.

The event commenced with a holy mass, led by Fr. Michael Mathews C.S.C, with co celebrant Fr Douglas Alinaitwe C.S.C, Fr Michael Matthews C.S.C also graced the occasion as the Guest of Honor. In his thought-provoking sermon, Fr. Mathews C.S.C, emphasized the significance of the Eucharist, highlighting the importance of the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. “You are what you eat,” he reminded the students, encouraging them to emulate Jesus’ teachings in their daily lives.

As part of the Corpus Christi celebrations, a solemn procession was held, where students walked with Jesus, praying around the school premises in reverence of this great feast. This poignant ceremony underscored the school’s commitment to nurturing the spiritual growth of its students.

The Talent Show itself was a resounding success, featuring an array of performances that showcased the students’ creativity and skill. From mesmerizing dance routines to captivating musical compositions, the students’ talents were on full display. The Holy Cross students from the University of Notre Dame also participated, adding to the richness of the event. This year’s theme

“Resilience in talent development for growth of a creative economy,”

was thoughtfully explored through the various performances.

The highlight of the evening was the crowning of Joana Naigembe (F.5) as Miss LAVISCO 2025 and Talemwa Don Steve (F.5) as Mr. LAVISCO 2025. Congratulations to these talented individuals!

The Ministry of Education and Sports recognizes the importance of talent shows in schools, emphasizing the role of arts in fostering academic excellence, discipline, and holistic development among learners.
