Holy Cross Lake View Moreau Scholar Graduates at St. Edward’s University, Texas

The Holy Cross Lake View community is celebrating a major milestone as Shakiib Wauyo, a distinguished alumnus and Moreau Scholar, has graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration majoring in Finance from St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas (USA).

Shakiib’s academic journey began at Holy Cross Lake View where he studied from 2015 to 2021, completing both his O and A Levels. While at Lake View, Shakiib exemplified the values of servant leadership, academic excellence, and co-curricular engagement that define a Holy Cross education.

During his time at Holy Cross Lake View, Shakiib held several key leadership positions including:
• President of the Council Body
• Chief Editor of the School Magazine
• President of the Debate Club – becoming the most capped debater in school history
• Captain of Kabalega House
• Attorney on the Disciplinary Committee
• General Manager of the Mustard Seed Business Club, leading the team to become finalists in the BizGrow category at the St. SNSC.

At St. Edward’s University, Shakiib continued to shine both in and out of the classroom, embracing the university’s mission of academic excellence and ethical leadership. His leadership roles included:
• Senior Vice President of the American Marketing Association
• Internal Affairs Director of the Student Guild
• Student Assistant to the University President
• Staff Development Coordinator at the Recreation & Wellness Department

Professionally, Shakiib gained significant experience in the finance and investment sector. He served as an Associate at Ragland Capital and currently holds the position of Senior Associate in charge of Operations and Capital Advisory at the same firm.
