On a joyous Palm Sunday, we kicked off the celebrations with a meaningful Mass that highlighted the mission and legacy of Fr. Bob Hesse, our beloved founder. Following the service, our head teacher, Fr. Atukwatse Prosper, C.S.C., along with Fr. Berry Apiire, C.S.C., and Ms. Immaculate Kisembo, the Club Patron, joined Laudato Si Club members in a memorable inaugural tree planting ceremony. This initiative symbolizes our commitment to honoring Fr. Bob’s enduring legacy of sustainability.

The team then embarked on a spiritual pilgrimage to Bugembe Parish, where they planted a mini orchard of memorial fruit and indigenous trees, which were graciously received by Fr. Vincent Ahuniriza, C.S.C. During this time, they also had the opportunity to learn more about Fr. Bob’s dedication to education and community values through insights shared by Fr. Innocent.

The Fr. Bob Hesse Sustainability Program aims not only to build upon the legacy of our founder but also to address pressing community needs. It serves as a platform for club members to learn about the importance of service, caring for one another, and nurturing our environment. By putting into practice the values they learn at school, these students will help protect cherished traditions while advancing climate solutions for a brighter future.

Looking ahead, the Laudato Si Club is excited to tackle climate issues with innovative, student-led initiatives. We invite parents and alumni to join us in transforming Lake View into a green school that positively influences our community and the Bugembe parish.

The day continued with a social hour, allowing the club members to bond and share their thoughts and inspirations before exploring the Holy Cross Parish in Bugembe.

If you are an alumnus or a parent interested in being part of this groundbreaking initiative during our Jubilee year, we welcome you to join us in nurturing a greener school and a just community!
