We Teach Minds, Touch Hearts and Transform Lives
Rooted in the mission of the Congregation of Holy Cross, we are dedicated to forming young people in mind, heart, and spirit—preparing them to lead with faith, integrity, and excellence.
Holy Cross Lake View SSS traces its legacy to the Congregation of Holy Cross, founded by Blessed Father Basil Moreau in 1837. The Congregation established a presence in Uganda in 1958, and our beloved school was founded on 23rd February 1993 on the beautiful Wanyange Hill in Jinja. From humble beginnings with just one classroom and fifty-one students, we have grown into one of Uganda's most respected secondary institutions.
Throughout the world, Holy Cross-sponsored academic institutions follow the key precepts of our founder: "How we educate the mind will change with the times; how we cultivate the heart is and will remain timeless."
The professional faculty at Holy Cross Lake View are well-experienced and adept at implementing educational practices and techniques designed to meet each student's individual learning style. Our teachers are committed to nurturing both the mind and the heart, following the Holy Cross charism of "Educators in Faith."
Classroom work and outside assignments are focused on engaging students. Our 1:25 student-teacher ratio allows teachers the opportunity to know each student personally, providing individualized attention and mentorship that extends beyond academics.
Technology plays a very important role in education at Holy Cross Lake View. The future is thoroughly embraced through our modern computer laboratories and digital learning initiatives, providing each student with important tools to interface with teachers, fellow students, and beyond. When schools across the country faced challenges, our faculty and students were able to seamlessly pivot to remote learning thanks to our robust technological infrastructure.
