The New Lower Secondary Curriculum marks a transformative shift in Uganda from knowledge-based to competence-based learning. At Holy Cross Lake View we have fully embraced this approach, which values practical skills, critical thinking, creativity and problem solving.
Our learners are already putting it into practice. Under the Faculty of Science, students have designed real projects and exhibited them at the National Agriculture Study Show at Jinja Show Grounds.

Learning by making
Innovation at Holy Cross
We are building Holy Cross Lake View into a centre for science in Uganda.
The school has eight well-stocked science laboratories, each able to hold up to 100 students at once, and hosts the national offices of the Association of Biology Educators (ABE).
