UCE and UACE Thanksgiving Ceremony for the Academic Year 2024 at Holy Cross Lake View SSS

Thanksgiving is a cherished tradition at Holy Cross Lake View Secondary School, where honoring God is a core value. On April 6th, 2025, the school community gathered as one family to express gratitude for the remarkable academic success achieved in the 2024 UCE and UACE exams.

The ceremony commenced with a beautiful celebration of the Liturgy, led by Fr. William Lukati, CSC, Chairperson of the Board of Governors, alongside concelebrants Fr. Prosper Atukwatse, CSC, Fr. Olobo Leonard, CSC, Fr. Douglas Alinaitwe, CSC, and Fr. Kisonga Nicodemus, CSC. In his homily, Fr. William expressed heartfelt thanks to the teachers and students for their dedication, which contributed to this significant academic achievement. He referenced the day’s reading from Isaiah 43:16, stating,

Thus says the Lord who opens a path in the mighty waters, who leads out chariots and horsemen.

He acknowledged the abundant love and mercy bestowed upon the school and emphasized that trust in the Lord, discipline, and a committed staff is essential for success. Fr. William encouraged students to recognize their potential and take pride in themselves and their school.

Following the Mass, the celebrations continued in Andre Hall, where speakers included UCE 2024 Representative Innocent Nuwagaba, UACE 2024 Representative Okwi Paul, and Nelson Ochan Odoch from the Holy Cross Lake View Association (HOLA). Each shared their gratitude to God, the administration, parents, and staff for their unwavering support, which played a vital role in their outstanding performance.

The Headteacher, Fr. Prosper Atukwatse, CSC, addressed the congregation, thanking God for His blessings, protection, and mercy. He acknowledged the collective efforts of students, parents, the PTA, the Board of Governors, the Board of Directors, and the staff.

Awards were presented to the top-performing students in O and A levels, as well as recognition for both teaching and non-teaching staff, highlighting their hard work and teamwork. The award ceremony was led by Fr. William, CSC, and Fr. Prosper, CSC.

In his closing remarks, Fr. William, CSC, expressed gratitude to the community for making 2024 a remarkable year. He encouraged the remaining students to persevere, urged those transitioning to higher education to stay united, and emphasized the importance of focus, strategy, and consistency. He concluded by calling on the Holy Cross Lake View community to maintain their unity.
